VSB Secures CfD for 303 MWp Solar Park in Poland, Marking Major Step in EU Energy Transition

Jul 30, 2025

VSB has won a 303 MWp solar project in Poland’s Lower Silesian Voivodeship as part of the Polish Energy Regulatory Office’s 2025 renewable energy auction, receiving a 15-year contract for difference (CfD) to ensure price stability. Construction of the massive ground-mounted solar park, which spans 260 hectares northeast of Wroc?aw, is expected to begin in October 2025, with grid connection anticipated in Q2 2027.

Once operational, the project will generate enough electricity to power approximately 117,000 households annually, making it one of the largest solar parks currently under development in Poland. VSB sees this as a flagship project, potentially expanding into one of Europe’s largest hybrid energy systems by integrating photovoltaics, battery storage, and wind energy in the future.

Hubert Kowalski, Managing Director of VSB Poland, emphasized the role of community engagement in the project’s success, while VSB Group CEO Dr. Felix Grolman highlighted its contribution to Poland’s energy security and Europe’s broader clean energy goals.

This solar park is VSB’s second landmark venture in Poland, following their development of Miejska Górka, the country’s largest wind project (190.8 MW), developed for TAURON Zielona Energia.
