VinFast Launches First Showroom in India, Begins EV Journey with Surat Debut

Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast has officially launched its India operations with the inauguration of its first showroom in Surat, Gujarat, under the name VinFast Surat, promoted by Chandan Car. Located in Piplod, the 3,000 sq. ft. dealership is designed as a one-stop destination for EV buyers, offering immersive product experiences, seamless booking, and after-sales support. The showroom showcases VinFast’s upcoming VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs, which are now open for pre-booking nationwide with a refundable token of Rs21,000.

VinFast plans to assemble its EVs locally at its upcoming Thoothukudi plant in Tamil Nadu, which will play a key role in positioning India as a global production hub. Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia, emphasized the company’s commitment to building a premium EV ownership journey in India, rooted in quality, service, and sustainability.

To bolster its presence, VinFast has partnered with RoadGrid, myTVS, and Global Assure for EV charging and after-sales service networks. It has also tied up with BatX Energies to support battery recycling, aligning with its circular battery value chain vision.

VinFast’s India debut coincides with Tesla’s entry into the country, underlining the intensifying competition in India's fast-growing EV market.
