Vadodara Municipal Corporation Invites Bids for 3 MW Rooftop Solar Systems Installation

The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has issued a tender inviting bids for the installation of a 3 MW rooftop solar system on its buildings, with a submission deadline of February 24, 2025. The bids will be opened on February 27, 2025. A bid security of Rs39.7 lakh is required from all bidders.

The selected contractor will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the systems for a period of 10 years. The systems must be built using modules from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM). The installation must be completed within 240 days from the issuance of the work order, with an estimated cost of Rs19.866 Cr.

Bidders must be registered with the relevant electrical authority, such as the Vadodara Municipal Corporation, public works department, or any Gujarat power distribution company. If not already registered, bidders must complete the registration within 30 days of receiving the work order. Additionally, bidders are required to provide evidence of achieving targeted performance generation from at least one 300 kW solar project that has been operational and maintained for at least two years.

To qualify, bidders must have experience commissioning, operating, and maintaining solar projects with a total capacity of 10 MW or more, including at least one project with a minimum capacity of 1.5 MW. Bidders must also be either original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of solar systems or authorized dealers with a formal letter of authorization from the manufacturer for the solar modules and inverters.
