Uttar Pradesh Plans 2000 MW Solar Projects Across 4 Districts
Jan 20, 2025
The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) for developing 2000 MW of solar projects across Chitrakoot, Jhansi, Lalitpur, and Jalaun districts. The projects will operate on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis using 8,000 acres of leased government land for 30 years.
This initiative aligns with Uttar Pradesh’s Solar Energy Policy 2022, targeting 22,000 MW of solar energy by 2027, with 14,000 MW dedicated to large-scale projects. Developers can choose power buyers, encouraging renewable energy investments.
