Uttar Pradesh Partners with Australia’s Smart Energy Council and Hinduja Group to Boost Renewables and Jobs
Apr 23, 2025
In a landmark move to strengthen its renewable energy sector, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Smart Energy Council of Australia and the Hinduja Group. This strategic alliance, guided by the vision of Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Hon'ble Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is set to position Uttar Pradesh as a major hub for clean energy investments and skilled workforce development.
The partnership aims to accelerate the adoption of solar and other renewable energy technologies across the state while simultaneously addressing employment generation through upskilling initiatives. Under this MoU, significant attention will be given to building technical capacities and promoting knowledge transfer from global leaders in the renewable energy space to local communities and institutions.
The initiative also aligns with UPNEDA’s (Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency) broader goals of achieving energy security, sustainability, and economic empowerment. By drawing in global expertise and private sector strength, the state government is not only reinforcing its climate goals but also opening up new pathways for green industrial growth and job creation.
This collaboration is a meaningful step toward realizing India’s clean energy ambitions and ensuring inclusive development through renewable innovation.
