UPC Renewables India Secures First Wind Power PPA with SJVN for 100 MW in Karnataka

Mar 31, 2025

UPC Renewables India has achieved a major milestone by signing its first-ever Wind Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SJVN Limited for a contracted capacity of 100 MW. The project will be located in Bijapur, Karnataka, and represents the first phase of a larger 300 MW development.

Brian Caffyn, Chairman of UPC Renewables Global, was present at the signing, underscoring the company's commitment to expanding wind energy in India. The agreement was finalized in under six months, following the Letter of Intent (LOI) in August 2024, thanks to the dedicated efforts of SJVN's team, led by Executive Director Pawan Varma.

This partnership marks a significant step in India's renewable energy growth, further strengthening the country's wind energy capacity and sustainability goals.
