Total Energies and Partners Inaugurate 640 MW Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan

TotalEnergies, along with Skyborn Renewables, EGCO Group, and Sojitz, has officially inaugurated the fully operational 640 MW Yunlin offshore wind farm in Taiwan. Located 15 km off Taiwan’s west coast at water depths of up to 35 meters, the project consists of 80 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 8 MW. The wind farm is set to generate 2.4 TWh of renewable electricity per year, supplying power to over 600,000 households and reducing 1.2 million tons of CO? emissions annually.

- Skyborn Renewables led the development and construction.
- TotalEnergies will oversee technical operations management post-COD.
- Skyborn Renewables will continue managing other operational aspects.
TotalEnergies’ Global Renewable Strategy
Olivier Jouny, Senior VP of Renewables at TotalEnergies, emphasized that Yunlin is a key step toward the company’s 2025 target of 35 GW gross renewable capacity and over 50 TWh of net electricity production—representing 10% of TotalEnergies' total energy output. The Yunlin project will also help the company strengthen its offshore wind expertise for upcoming projects in Germany, Denmark, and the UK.
In Asia, TotalEnergies has a renewable portfolio of over 23 GW gross, spanning solar, wind, and energy storage at various development stages, with 50% already operational or under construction.
