Telangana Awards 500 MWh Standalone BESS at Rs2.40-2.45 Lakh/MW/Month

Telangana has successfully awarded a 500 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at a tariff of Rs 2.40-2.45 lakh per MW per month. The bidding saw Pace Digitek Limited, TrueRE - Oriana Power Ltd, and Bondada Engineering Pvt Ltd emerging as winners.
- Bondada Engineering Pvt Ltd: 50 MW at Rs 240,347/MW/Month
- TrueRE - Oriana Power Ltd: 50 MW at Rs 245,152/MW/Month
- Pace Digitek Limited: 125 MW at Rs 245,153/MW/Month
The discovered L1 tariff in this auction is 9% higher than the lowest price recorded in previous Standalone BESS auctions with Viability Gap Funding (VGF). This signals increasing interest and competitiveness in India’s energy storage sector, driven by the growing integration of renewable energy into the grid.
