Tata Power Renewables Signs Group Captive Solar Pact with Fiat India for 12.62 MWp Project
Apr 12, 2025
Tata Power Renewables has inked a Group Captive Power Delivery Agreement with Fiat India Automobiles Pvt. Ltd., marking a strategic collaboration to deliver 12.62 MWp of solar power from a project located in Akola, Maharashtra. This partnership underscores both companies’ shared commitment to decarbonisation and achieving net-zero emission goals.
The project is projected to generate ~20.63 million units of clean energy annually, directly powering Fiat’s Ranjangaon manufacturing facility. By leveraging this renewable power source, Fiat India will significantly reduce its carbon footprint while ensuring energy cost savings and supply reliability.
This initiative reinforces Tata Power Renewables’ leadership in delivering clean energy solutions to industrial partners, and aligns with India’s broader renewable energy push. Group captive models like this also demonstrate how industrial consumers can transition toward sustainability while maintaining operational efficiency.
As industries increasingly adopt green energy to meet ESG goals, collaborations such as this highlight the growing role of industrial decarbonisation in India's energy transition.
