Tata Power-DDL Partners with Magna Yuma to Expand EV Battery Swapping Network in Delhi
Jul 30, 2025
Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Magna Yuma Private Limited, a battery swapping service provider, to establish and expand EV battery swapping stations across North Delhi. Serving over 9 million consumers, Tata Power-DDL will provide dedicated spaces for these stations, while Magna Yuma will handle the design, procurement, installation, and maintenance.
This partnership focuses on commercial electric two-wheelers, especially those used in the gig economy, aiming to create a robust and accessible EV ecosystem. The initiative seeks to accelerate the adoption of sustainable mobility, reduce air and noise pollution, and generate economic opportunities for gig workers and delivery personnel.
By leveraging Tata Power-DDL’s infrastructure capabilities and Magna Yuma’s battery-swapping technology, the collaboration also targets the reduction of power theft and promotes shared e-mobility solutions. It aligns with Delhi’s clean energy goals and supports the state’s broader transition to an eco-friendly transport network.
Dwijadas Basak, CEO of Tata Power-DDL, emphasized the commitment to clean energy, sustainable mobility, and improving youth livelihoods in the city, reinforcing their vision of a greener, smarter Delhi.
