Tata Power-DDL and FSR Global Collaborate to Advance Smart Grid and Clean Energy Innovation

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) and FSR Global have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to drive advancements in clean energy technologies, policy research, and capacity building.

This collaboration is a strategic move toward accelerating Smart Grid development in India, enhancing regulatory frameworks, and promoting sustainable energy solutions. The partnership will focus on research projects, technical papers, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to facilitate industry best practices.

Key Focus Areas of the MoU
  • Smart Grid Development: As part of the Smart Grid Observatory (SGO) community, the collaboration will foster demonstration projects and knowledge-sharing on interoperable smart grid infrastructure.
  • Policy Research & Innovation: The partnership will support research initiatives to address challenges in India’s evolving energy sector.
  • Capacity Building: Training programs will be developed to enhance the skills of utility professionals and industry stakeholders.

Gajanan S Kale, CEO of Tata Power-DDL, emphasized the significance of the MoU, stating: “With the rapid adoption of green energy, India is undergoing a transformative energy transition. This collaboration will help accelerate smart grid deployment, improving the reliability, efficiency, and resilience of the power sector.”

Swetha Ravi Kumar, Executive Director of FSR Global, added: “Building an interoperable smart grid requires collaboration across stakeholders. Through this partnership, we aim to innovate and demonstrate smart grid use cases, contributing to India's energy modernization.”

Beyond India, the MoU will also support knowledge-sharing with Global South nations, leveraging India's experiences in grid modernization and clean energy integration.
