Tariffs Drop in RVUNL's Battery Storage Tender

India's battery storage sector saw a tariff decline with RVUNL's 500 MW/1000 MWh standalone BESS tender, achieving a new low of INR 2.21 lakhs/MW/month (30% VGF support). Winners include Solarworld Energy, TrueRE-Oriana Power, Rays Power Experts, and JSW Energy.
An additional 500 MW/1000 MWh greenshoe option may also be explored with the winners. This brings India’s total allocated standalone BESS capacity to 4.6 GWh, including 0.5 GWh under construction and 3.7 GWh in tenders. The focus remains on rapid execution of these projects.
