Suzlon Secures 381 MW Order from Zelestra for First FDRE Project Across Three States
Aug 01, 2025
Suzlon Group has bagged a 381 MW wind energy order from Zelestra India and its affiliates for their first firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) project, signaling a significant step in Zelestra’s clean energy strategy. The project comprises 127 units of Suzlon’s advanced S144 wind turbines and spans three states—180 MW each in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, and 21 MW in Tamil Nadu.
The Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh segments will contribute to SJVN's FDRE bid, while the Tamil Nadu portion is designed to supply clean power to Commercial & Industrial (C&I) consumers. This deal reflects a broader industry trend where new entrants in the renewable energy space are choosing established players like Suzlon for their expertise in scalable and reliable solutions.
Suzlon will provide end-to-end services including installation, commissioning, and 25 years of lifecycle support, reinforcing its position as India’s leading wind energy provider. This project is aligned with India's decarbonization goals and the push for dispatchable renewables that can meet increasing energy demands with flexibility and consistency.
