Suzlon Secures 100.8 MW Wind EPC Order from Sunsure Energy for Maharashtra Project

Apr 18, 2025

Suzlon Group has won a 100.8 MW turnkey EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) wind power order from Sunsure Energy, a leading Independent Power Producer (IPP). The project will be implemented in the wind-rich region of Jath, Maharashtra, furthering the state’s clean energy footprint.

As part of the agreement, Suzlon will supply 48 of its S120 Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs), each with a rated capacity of 2.1 MW and mounted on Hybrid Lattice Towers (HLT). These turbines are designed for enhanced efficiency and optimal generation in low-wind regimes, ensuring cost-effective and reliable power output.

The partnership signifies a shared commitment to accelerate India’s energy transition. Suzlon’s CEO Jayarama Prasad Chalasani and Sunsure’s Co-founder Manish Mehta expressed strong optimism about the collaboration, highlighting wind power’s growing role in delivering accessible and affordable electricity to all.

The project not only supports India’s renewable energy targets but also contributes to local job creation and infrastructure development. With this order, Suzlon continues to reinforce its leadership in domestic wind manufacturing and EPC services, while Sunsure builds on its strategy to expand its IPP portfolio with sustainable assets.
