Sunsure Energy Secures Rs128.9 Crore for 49 MWp Open-Access Solar Plant in Uttar Pradesh

Feb 28, 2025

Sunsure Energy has successfully raised Rs128.9 crore in long-term debt financing from Tata Capital and Aditya Birla Finance Limited (ABFL). This funding has supported the commissioning of a 49 MWp open-access solar plant in Augasi, Uttar Pradesh, further strengthening Sunsure’s 145 MWp commissioned solar portfolio in the state.

The Augasi solar plant is expected to generate 72 million units of clean electricity annually while offsetting 1.3 million metric tonnes of CO2 emissions over its lifetime. This project plays a crucial role in helping Uttar Pradesh meet its clean energy targets and promoting open-access solar adoption in the state.

Sunsure is currently developing an additional 270 MWp of solar capacity across Uttar Pradesh. The company’s existing open-access solar projects are operational in key regions such as Agra, Banda, Mahoba, Jhansi, and Unnao, making it a significant player in the state’s renewable energy sector.

This financing marks Sunsure Energy’s second collaboration with Tata Capital and first-ever deal with ABFL, reflecting strong institutional confidence in Sunsure’s vision, execution, and financial strength. The investment will help Sunsure scale its renewable energy portfolio and contribute to India’s green energy transition.
