Solar Sector Faces DCR Module Challenges

India’s solar sector is facing challenges due to the rising cost and limited supply of domestically manufactured modules that comply with domestic content requirements (DCR). The government’s key solar initiatives, such as PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and PM-KUSUM, are affected by this supply crunch.
The price hike is mainly due to the provisional anti-dumping duties imposed on solar glass imports from China and Vietnam by the Ministry of Finance.
