RITES and CMPDI Partner to Explore Mining and Renewable Projects Globally
Jul 24, 2025
RITES Ltd. has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL), to build a strategic collaboration aimed at exploring and executing mining, renewable energy, and infrastructure projects both in India and internationally.
The partnership will focus on jointly identifying and pursuing prospective projects, particularly in the domains of mining operations, renewable energy development, and the associated infrastructure required for efficient evacuation and logistics. RITES will bring to the table its international project experience, expertise in market intelligence, and strong capabilities in logistics and evacuation planning to support CMPDI’s initiatives.
According to the statement, both organizations will undertake joint feasibility studies and detailed assessments for targeted projects and geographies. They will also cooperate in preparing and submitting consultancy proposals and project bids related to mining and infrastructure development.
This MoU sets a collaborative framework not only for mining projects but also for potential expansion into the renewable energy space, highlighting the evolving energy landscape and the need for integrated infrastructure. The partnership reflects a broader trend of government-linked entities aligning efforts to enhance India’s infrastructure and energy capacities, both domestically and through global engagements.
