RERC Approves 5000 MW Solar Procurement Under PM KUSUM Yojana

The Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC) has approved the procurement of 5000 MW of solar power under PM KUSUM Yojana – Component A. The commission has set a pre-fixed levelized tariff of Rs3.04 per unit, which will also serve as the ceiling tariff for the competitive bidding process to be conducted by Rajasthan Discoms under the same scheme.

PM KUSUM Yojana – Component A focuses on setting up decentralized grid-connected solar power plants to support farmers and enhance energy security in rural areas. This approval is expected to boost solar adoption in Rajasthan, attract investment in decentralized solar projects, and contribute to the state’s renewable energy goals. By ensuring a stable tariff, the move provides clarity to developers and helps in the effective implementation of the program.
