PSERC Approves True-Up and Revised ARR for PSTCL for FY 2024 & FY 2026

The Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) has issued an order finalizing the true-up of Aggregate Revenue Requirement (ARR) for FY 2024 and approving the revised ARR forecast and tariff structure for FY 2026 for the Punjab State Transmission Corporation (PSTCL).

Key Highlights:

• Transmission Loss: PSTCL reported 2.24% transmission loss for FY 2024, slightly better than the 2.25% target.
• Power Purchase Rate: The approved average power purchase rate stands at Rs4.83/kWh.
• Transmission Charges:
  • Monthly fixed charge: Rs148 crore.
  • Open Access Tariffs:
    • Long & medium-term: Rs108,601.52/MW/month.
    • Short-term: Rs238.575/MWh.
• Capital Investment: Approved Rs420 crore, excluding contributory works.
• Asset Procurement: Approved Rs3.3 crore for FY 2024.

The Commission recognized PSTCL’s efforts in reducing transmission losses and granted a share of the financial gain from overachievement. It also identified discrepancies in capital investment approvals and adjusted the allowed expenses accordingly.

Recently, PSERC approved the procurement of 400 MW of solar power from SAEL Industries at Rs2.97/kWh for Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL).
