POWERGRID Invites Bids for 4,296 kW Rooftop Solar Projects in Southern States

Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID), through its subsidiary POWERGRID Energy Services, has issued a tender for 4,296 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. This initiative falls under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, aimed at expanding solar adoption in India.

Bid Details & Timeline

• Bid Submission Deadline: March 6, 2025
• Bid Opening Date: March 6, 2025
• Bid Security: Rs 0.1 crore
• Performance Security: 10% of the total contract value (to be submitted within 28 days of contract award)
• Completion Timeline: Within six months of work order issuance

The project involves the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, testing, and commissioning of rooftop solar systems across POWERGRID buildings in five southern states. It also includes:

• Civil, structural, and electrical works
• Underground cabling (if required) for grid connectivity
• Maintenance services for five years from commissioning or net metering start date.

To qualify, bidders must:

• Have experience in installing grid-connected solar projects with a cumulative capacity of at least 300 kW in the past three years OR
• Be a distributor/dealer who has supplied solar modules of at least 1 MW capacity in the last three years
• Have a positive net worth for the last three financial years
• Have an average annual turnover of Rs6 crore in the last five years OR
• Provide proof of credit facilities worth Rs1 crore
