Power Secretary Reviews Progress at NHPC's 2000 MW Subansiri Lower HE Project

Shri Pankaj Agarwal (IAS), Secretary, Ministry of Power, Government of India, conducted a two-day visit to NHPC’s 2000 MW Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project from July 19 to 20, 2025. Accompanied by NHPC CMD Shri R.P. Goyal and Director (Projects) Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, the delegation inspected key infrastructure including the dam site, powerhouse complex, and ongoing protection works at the Diversion Tunnel Inlet area.

During a comprehensive review meeting, the Executive Director & Head of Project briefed the dignitaries on the project’s progress. Shri Agarwal appreciated the project team's efforts and urged them to maintain momentum for the timely commissioning of Units 1 to 4 and completion of the remaining units as scheduled. The visit concluded with the planting of saplings on-site, reflecting NHPC's ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and green development.
