PM Modi Dedicates Rs568 Crore POWERGRID Transmission Projects to the Nation

Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated three major POWERGRID transmission projects—WRES-XXVII, WRES-XXVIII, and WRES-XXIX—in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. These projects, worth Rs568 crore, aim to enhance power transmission infrastructure and ensure a stable, efficient supply of electricity to key regions, strengthening India’s interstate transmission system (ISTS).

Project Highlights:
  • WRES-XXVII (POWERGRID Raipur Pool Dhamtari Transmission Ltd.): 176 ckm added to the National Grid, enhancing connectivity.
  • WRES-XXVIII (POWERGRID Dharamjaigarh Transmission Ltd.): Augments 1500 MVA transformation capacity.
  • WRES-XXIX (POWERGRID Dharamjaigarh Transmission Ltd.): Augments 1000 MVA transformation capacity.

These projects play a crucial role in supporting inter-regional power flow and addressing the growing electricity demand across India. The expansion will help strengthen grid stability, enabling seamless power distribution across states and bolstering India’s renewable energy integration.
