PM KUSUM Scheme Review Meeting Focuses on Enhancing Farmers' Benefits

Nidhi Khare, Secretary of MNRE, chaired a review meeting of the PM KUSUM scheme, launched in March 2019 to promote solar power in the farming sector. The scheme aims to reduce diesel dependence, ensure water and energy security, and improve farmers' income. Updates shared by Ms. Suman Chandra, MNRE Director, showed 396 MW installed under Component A and 7.4 lakh solar pumps under Components B and C. Khare emphasized integrating the scheme with the farming community, ensuring sustainability, and collaborating with other ministries for broader impact.
