PGCIL Begins Commercial Operations on Sikar TBCB Project

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) has announced the commencement of commercial operations for its TBCB project under Powergrid Sikar Transmission Ltd. The project, which was fully commissioned on December 19, 2024, officially started operations on January 22, 2025.

This project, part of the transmission system strengthening scheme for evacuating 8.1 GW of solar power from Rajasthan, involves 888 ckm of lines and a 3,000 MVA transformation capacity. Key infrastructure includes substations and transmission lines, helping to enhance Rajasthan's renewable energy evacuation.
