Oriana Power Signs Rs500 Crore MoU for Solar and Battery Storage in Assam

Oriana Power Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth Rs500 crore with the Government of Assam to develop solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Kamrup district. The agreement was formalized during the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit – 2025, held in Guwahati. The collaboration is part of Assam’s broader strategy to enhance renewable energy adoption and aligns with India's national sustainability goals. While the MoU marks the intent of both parties to collaborate, further regulatory approvals and detailed agreements will be required before implementation.

Oriana Power specializes in solar energy solutions for industrial and commercial clients, offering both on-site projects like rooftop and ground-mounted solar systems, as well as off-site solar farms. The planned projects in Assam will integrate battery storage to enhance energy reliability and efficiency, ensuring a more stable power supply. This initiative is expected to strengthen Assam’s renewable energy infrastructure, reduce dependence on conventional energy sources, and support India’s clean energy transition.
