Odisha Approves Rs870 Crore Investment for 178 MW Renewable Energy Projects

Odisha’s Energy Department has cleared four renewable energy projects worth Rs869.8 crore with a combined generation capacity of 178 MW. Approved by the department’s single window committee, the projects include three solar installations totaling 128.5 MW and one wind project of 49.5 MW. The proposals were put forward by NLC India Renewables, Prozeal Green Energy, INOX Solar, and Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL).
The largest among them is a 69.5 MW solar park by Prozeal Green Energy at Biramaharajpur in Subarnapur district. INOX Solar received clearance for a 49.5 MW solar project in Keonjhar district, and MCL will develop a 10 MW solar unit at Lakhanpur in Jharsuguda district. Additionally, NLC India Renewables is set to build a wind project in Papadahandi, Nabarangpur district.
These approvals bring the total renewable capacity sanctioned by the committee to 1,844.86 MW, drawing cumulative investment commitments of Rs12,599.79 crore. This move reflects Odisha’s growing push to attract green energy investments and diversify its energy mix with a focus on sustainability.
