NTPC REL Signs MoU with GEDA to Develop 300+ MW RE Projects in Goa

Jul 23, 2025

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) to develop renewable energy projects in Goa. The collaboration targets establishing solar and hybrid energy systems with a minimum capacity of 300 MW. The agreement also includes the potential integration of energy storage solutions to enhance grid stability and reliability.

This initiative aligns with Goa’s clean energy ambitions and NTPC’s growing renewable energy portfolio. Earlier in July, NTPC REL successfully commissioned 409 MW of solar capacity across Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. The newly operational capacity includes the entire 220 MW Shajapur solar project in Madhya Pradesh, a 142.2 MW unit from the 300 MW Khavda solar project, and a 146.7 MW unit from the ongoing 1,255 MW Khavda-I mega project in Gujarat. These developments mark significant progress in NTPC’s mission to lead India’s energy transition through large-scale renewable deployment.
