NTPC REL Invites Bids for 600 MW Solar Project in Karnataka

NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd. (NTPC REL) has issued a tender for a land and power evacuation package to facilitate the development of a 600 MW solar power project in Tumkur, Karnataka. The bid submission deadline is April 4, 2025, with the opening of bids scheduled on the same day. Interested bidders must pay a document fee of Rs22,500.
The tender covers a comprehensive package, including:
- Land acquisition & leasing – Arranging private or government land (5 acres/MW) on a freehold or lease basis for at least 29 years and 11 months.
- Site preparation – Conducting topography surveys, geo-technical investigations, and fencing.
- Power evacuation infrastructure – Designing and constructing pooling substations, transmission lines, and terminal bays to connect the project to the Tumkur substation.
- Operations & Maintenance – Managing the pooling substation, transmission lines, and terminal bay for a period of three years.
- Tracker-based module mounting – Ensuring the land has a maximum 10% slope for installing solar trackers.
To qualify, bidders must:
- Be Class-I local suppliers.
- Have experience in land acquisition for solar or wind parks with a cumulative capacity of at least 100 MW, including at least one project of 50 MW.
- Alternatively, bidders must have executed an industrial project (power, steel, oil & gas, petrochemicals, fertilizers, cement, or coal mining) worth at least Rs47.2 crore.
- Have constructed an electrical substation of at least 33 kV with essential equipment like voltage breakers and power transformers.
- Have a minimum annual turnover of Rs47.2 crore over the past three financial years.
