NTPC Green Energy Seeks Developers for 5 MW Solar + 4 MW/12 MWh BESS in Great Nicobar

NTPC Green Energy has issued an Expression of Interest (EoI) for the development of a 5 MW solar project along with a 4 MW/12 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Great Nicobar Island. The EoI is open to Indian companies, consortiums, affiliates, or representatives, with submissions due by April 18, 2025, and bid opening scheduled for April 24, 2025.
Project Scope & Requirements
- Comprehensive energy study to assess demand and grid integration.
- Evaluation of existing transmission infrastructure and optimal capacity planning.
- Submission of technical & commercial approach aligned with NTPC’s requirements.
- Inclusion of past project experience, preferably with government or PSU work orders.
- Details on energy storage options, cost strategies, and logistics for island deployment.
This project is part of NTPC Green Energy’s effort to expand renewables in remote regions, ensuring energy reliability with integrated solar + BESS solutions. The EoI responses will shape the final tender specifications and qualifying criteria for prospective bidders.
