NTPC Green Energy and BSPGCL Partner to Advance Renewable and Battery Storage Projects in Bihar

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited (BSPGCL) to support Bihar's clean energy journey. The MoU focuses on developing Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Renewable Energy Projects aimed at helping the state move toward decarbonization and energy transition.
The agreement was formalized on 26th July 2025, with key officials present, including Sh. Sarit Maheswari, CEO of NGEL & NREL, and Sh. Abdesh Kumar Singh, Director Technical of BSPGCL. The event was attended by top leaders from the Bihar government, including the Hon’ble Energy Minister Sh. Bijendra Prasad Yadav and Industries Minister Sh. Nitish Mishra, along with other senior government officials.
This collaboration aligns with the launch of Bihar’s new 2025 policy for promoting renewable energy, underlining the state’s commitment to a cleaner and more sustainable energy future. The partnership is expected to play a vital role in strengthening Bihar’s energy infrastructure, integrating more green power into the grid, and reducing carbon emissions. It marks a proactive step towards energy security, sustainable growth, and long-term climate resilience for the state.
