NTPC Awards 1.2 GW Wind-Solar Hybrid Projects to Enfinity, Welspun, NLC & Adani
Mar 19, 2025
NTPC has successfully concluded its Hybrid 03 auction for 1.2 GW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind-solar hybrid projects. The winners of the auction include EG Solwin Renewables (Enfinity Global), Welspun Renewable Energy, NLC India, and Adani Green. The tariffs finalized for the projects range between Rs3.35 /kWh.
EG Solwin Renewables secured 300 MW at Rs3.35/kWh, Welspun Renewable Energy won 250 MW at the same tariff, and NLC India bagged 450 MW at Rs3.35/kWh. Adani Green secured 200 MW at a tariff of Rs3.36/kWh out of its quoted 600 MW under the bucket-filling method, which determines final allocations based on lowest bid prices.
The tender allowed developers to bid for projects with capacities ranging from 50 MW to 600 MW, in multiples of 10 MW. A key requirement was that at least 33% of the total contracted capacity must come from either wind or solar. To ensure reliable execution, the tender mandated the use of commercially established and operational technologies for both wind and solar generation.
All wind turbines used in the projects must be type-certified models listed under the Revised List of Models and Manufacturers (RLMM) by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). Similarly, all solar modules must be included in MNRE’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-I, ensuring adherence to quality standards and technology readiness.
