NHPC REL Issues Tender for 24.22 MW Rooftop Solar Projects Across Central Ministries

NHPC Renewable Energy Limited (NHPC REL), a subsidiary of NHPC, has floated a tender to develop rooftop solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 24.22 MWac across various Central Government ministries. The bid submission deadline is set for March 3, 2025.

The rooftop solar installations will be implemented under the RESCO (Renewable Energy Service Company) model, which involves no upfront cost to the government. The projects will be spread across 25 states and union territories, targeting shadow-free areas on government buildings to maximize energy generation. This initiative aligns with the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG MBY), a central scheme aimed at promoting solar energy adoption.
