NHPC Issues Tender for 1,200 MW ISTS-Connected Solar Projects with 600 MW/2,400 MWh Energy Storage

NHPC has floated a request for selection (RfS) for 1,200 MW of ISTS-connected solar projects across India, integrated with a 600 MW/2,400 MWh energy storage system (ESS). The tender includes a greenshoe option of up to 1,200 MW.

Key Tender Details

• Bid Submission Deadline: April 24, 2025
• Bid Opening Date: April 29, 2025
• Bid Security:
  • Rs942,000 per MW for solar capacity
  • Rs0.13 crore per MW for ESS capacity

Processing Fees (Excluding 18% GST)

• 50 MW: Rs300,000
• 50-100 MW: Rs500,000
• 100-250 MW: Rs10 lakh
• 250-500 MW: Rs20 lakh
• Above 500 MW: Rs30 lakh

Project & Bidding Requirements

• Power Purchase Agreement (PPA): 25 years
• Minimum Project Size:
  • Solar: 50 MW
  • ESS: 25 MW/100 MWh
• Maximum Capacity (Without Greenshoe Option):
  • Solar: 600 MW
  • ESS: 300 MW/1,200 MWh
• Technology Requirement: Bidders must use commercially established technologies and Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) compliant modules.
• Financial Eligibility:
  • Net worth must exceed bid security.
  • Annual turnover requirement:
    • Rs40.7 lakh per MW of solar
    • Rs60.8 lakh per MW of ESS

Who Can Bid?

Developers with commissioned or untied solar capacity can apply. Projects can be offered at multiple locations as long as they meet minimum capacity requirements.
