NHPC Inaugurates State-of-the-Art Dam Control Room at 2000 MW Subansiri Lower HE Project

Shri R. K. Chaudhary, Chairman and Managing Director of NHPC, inaugurated the Dam Control Room of NHPC’s 2000 MW Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric (HE) Project. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Executive Director & Head of Project (HOP), Subansiri Lower HE Project (SLEP), along with senior NHPC officials.

The newly inaugurated control room is being hailed as one of the most advanced and well-equipped facilities of its kind in the country. It has been developed with cutting-edge monitoring and control systems, enabling efficient and real-time dam operations, ensuring both safety and performance.

Shri Chaudhary commended the dedicated efforts of the Subansiri project team, led by the ED & HOP, as well as the executing agency M/s BGS-SGS-SOMA JV, for successfully delivering a modern facility critical to the operational success of India’s largest under-construction hydro project.

The Subansiri Lower HE Project, straddling the border of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, is a pivotal component of India’s renewable energy and hydropower infrastructure development. The inauguration of this control room marks a significant milestone in the commissioning journey of the project, reaffirming NHPC’s commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and national energy security.
