NHPC and APGENCO Form Joint Venture for Renewable Energy Projects

NHPC and Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation (APGENCO) have established a 50:50 joint venture, APGENCO NHPC Green Energy Ltd., on January 23, 2025.
The joint venture will focus on developing pumped storage hydropower and renewable energy projects (solar, floating solar, and wind) in Andhra Pradesh. Initially, five major pumped storage projects namely Yaganti PSP (1000 MW), Rajupalem PSP (800 MW), Gadikota PSP (1200 MW), Aravetipalli PSP (1320 MW) and Deenepalli PSP (750 MW),totaling 5,500 MW will be developed. The JV will handle planning, research, construction, and operation, as well as transmission and power distribution.</p.
