LG Energy Solution and Aptera Motors Partner for Solar EV Batteries

LG Energy Solution has partnered with Aptera Motors to provide solar electric vehicle (EV) batteries, as announced at CES 2025. Under this partnership, LG will supply 4.4 GWh of cylindrical batteries to power Aptera’s solar EVs, with the first models expected in the U.S. by 2025.
The vehicles will have a range of 643 km (400 miles) per charge, with solar panels contributing up to 64 km (40 miles) daily. This collaboration marks a major step towards sustainable, solar-powered transportation, with production set to begin at LG’s Arizona facility in 2026.
