Lakshadweep Electricity Department Issues Rooftop Solar Tender with Battery Storage

The Lakshadweep Electricity Department has floated a tender for the supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and operation & maintenance of a 2107 kW hybrid rooftop solar power plant across various government buildings in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep. Each kilowatt of the system will be equipped with a 3 kWh battery energy storage system, ensuring reliable power supply and grid stability.

This project aims to enhance renewable energy adoption in the island territory, reducing dependency on diesel-based power generation and promoting sustainable energy solutions. The integration of battery storage will help in ensuring energy availability during non-sunny hours, making the project a significant step towards Lakshadweep’s clean energy transition.
