KPI Green Energy Appoints Surinder Kumar Negi as COO to Drive Renewable Expansion

KPI Green Energy has appointed Surinder Kumar Negi as its Chief Operating Officer (COO), leveraging his four decades of expertise in power transmission, renewable integration, and infrastructure development. Negi has held leadership roles at NTPC, POWERGRID, ALSTOM, Reliance Energy, GETCO, and Skipperseil Ltd., significantly contributing to India’s energy infrastructure.
Key Achievements:
- As MD of Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation (GETCO): Expanded Gujarat’s grid by adding 830 substations and 21,300 km of transmission lines, enabling 23,000 MW of power capacity.
- Investment Leadership: Led an investment of ?12,000 crore in transmission infrastructure, reducing transmission losses below 4% and achieving 99.6% system availability.
- Smart Grid Technology Integration: Spearheaded India’s first large-scale Smart Grid Technology integration, including Optical CT, Digital Substations, AI-driven grid analytics, and PMUs for grid modernization.
- Awards and Recognition: Recognized with CBIP’s Best Engineer Award (2014-15) and Distinguished Fellow Membership by CIGRE (2016) for his contributions to high-voltage transmission and grid innovation.
Role at KPI Green Energy:
- Scaling renewable energy projects, particularly in solar and hybrid energy.
- Strengthening transmission infrastructure to support large-scale RE integration.
- Expanding KPI Green Energy’s domestic and international footprint.
