JSW Neo Energy Acquires 4.7 GW O2 Power Platform to Accelerate Renewable Growth

JSW Neo Energy Ltd. (JSWNEL), a subsidiary of JSW Energy Ltd., has successfully acquired a 4.7 GW renewable energy platform from O2 Power. This deal, with an adjusted enterprise value of Rs12,468 crores, is a major step in JSW's clean energy expansion. The acquisition is expected to generate Rs1,500 crores in EBITDA from 2,259 MW of capacity likely to become operational by June 2025. Furthermore, JSWNEL plans to invest around Rs13,500 crores in capital expenditure to scale the capacity up to 4,696 MW by June 2027.
Sharad Mahendra, Joint MD & CEO of JSW Energy, stated that this strategic move will help the company reach its ambitious goal of 20 GW capacity well before the 2030 target. Pritesh Vinay, Director (Finance) and CFO, also expressed confidence in the financial and strategic benefits of the acquisition. With this move, JSW is positioning itself as a key player in India’s growing renewable energy sector.
