Husk Power Secures 500K Funding to Expand Solar Minigrids in DRC

Husk Power has secured a 500,000 grant from Acumen’s Hardest-to-Reach (H2R) initiative to expand its solar minigrid projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where millions still lack access to electricity.

The funds will help establish Husk’s corporate presence, obtain government approvals, and develop a pipeline of renewable energy projects. This move is part of Husk’s ‘Africa Sunshot’ initiative, aiming to deploy 2,500 minigrids across Africa by 2030. Husk’s DRC expansion aligns with the World Bank’s Mission 300 to electrify 300 million people by 2030.
