Himachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency (HIMURJA) has issued three tenders for setting up ground-mounted solar projects totaling 8.5 MW in the state. The deadline to submit bids is April 26, 2025, and they’ll be opened on April 28.
Tender 1 covers 4.5 MW across nine locations in Shimla, Kinnaur, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti, and Solan. Each project is of 500 kW. The total project cost is Rs6 crore. To qualify, bidders must have at least 1 MW of previous project experience (minimum 500 kW each), and an annual turnover of Rs2 crore. EMD is Rs12 lakh.
Tender 2 includes 2 MW across Chamba, Una, and Kangra districts. Each of the four sites will host 500 kW. The estimated cost is Rs4 crore, with an EMD of Rs800,000 and a turnover requirement of Rs1 crore.
Tender 3 is also for 2 MW across Kangra and Hamirpur districts, with similar requirements to Tender 1 but a higher total cost of Rs8 crore and EMD of Rs16 lakh.
All projects must be completed in 8 months and maintained for 5 years. Each system is expected to generate 800,000 kWh per year. Earlier in 2024, HIMURJA also invited vendors for rooftop solar projects under net metering and billing schemes.
