Himachal Pradesh Invests Rs905 Crore in Clean Energy and EV Infrastructure

Himachal Pradesh is accelerating its clean energy transition with a Rs 905 crore investment across renewable energy, EV infrastructure, and power transmission. The state has set an ambitious target of 500 MW of solar projects by 2026-27, with 626 MW already under development.

Key initiatives include:
  • 200 MW solar project in Kangra’s Damtal region, expected to generate 320 million units annually.
  • 450 MW Shongtong Hydroelectric Project, set for completion in 2026, projected to bring Rs1,000 crore in revenue.
  • Pumped storage projects for grid stability, with proposals from SJVNL, NTPC, and private developers.
  • Expansion of EV charging infrastructure and procurement of 500 electric buses.
  • Interest subsidies to promote solar adoption in tribal and remote areas.

By focusing on solar, hydro, and green mobility, Himachal Pradesh is setting a strong example for sustainable energy development in India.
