Himachal Pradesh Inaugurates First Solar Project in Dharamshala

Himachal Pradesh's Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, recently inaugurated the state's first solar power project in Dharamshala, Kangra district. The 750 kW project, built at a cost of Rs. 4.74 crore, spans 8,500 square meters and generates around 2,000 units of electricity daily, earning Rs. 2.80 lakh monthly.
The project features 1,364 solar panels with safety measures like lightning and fire protection. The state aims to harness more green energy, with plans for seven solar projects and 200 solar plants for “Green Panchayats” by 2026.
