GreenLine Mobility Solutions, led by CEO Anand Mimani, is spearheading a green transformation in India’s logistics sector through its fleet of 650 LNG-powered trucks. The company envisions reducing 1 million tons of carbon emissions annually, helping India meet its 30% GHG reduction target by 2030. Road logistics currently contribute about 15% of India’s total carbon emissions, underscoring the urgent need for cleaner alternatives.

GreenLine’s LNG trucks offer up to 30% lower CO2 emissions, zero SOx emissions, and significant reductions in NOx, CO, and particulate matter, while maintaining cost parity with diesel trucks. Having already clocked over 40 million kilometers, the fleet has achieved a 10,000-tonne reduction in CO2 emissions. The trucks are economically efficient, with breakeven possible in just 1.5 years, given an annual mileage of 80,000 km.

Looking ahead, GreenLine plans to expand its fleet to 10,000 trucks, including a mix of LNG and electric vehicles (EVs). This will be supported by a nationwide network of 100 LNG refuelling stations and EV charging stations, including battery swapping facilities.

The company is backed by Essar’s green mobility ecosystem, which integrates truck manufacturing (via Blue Energy Motors), green fuel infrastructure, and renewable energy. This vertically integrated approach enables GreenLine to manage India’s first and largest LNG truck fleet, helping clients reduce Scope 3 emissions.

Government support is also pivotal. Policies such as PM E-DRIVE for EVs and plans to transition a third of India’s trucking fleet to LNG are critical enablers. Infrastructure expansion and LNG allocation are being prioritised.

Looking to the future, Mimani anticipates a mixed-fuel economy, combining bio-LNG, hydrogen, CNG, and EVs, along with AI and IoT-driven digital logistics, to power India’s clean and efficient freight revolution.
