GERC Dismisses Petition by KPI Green Energy and Rajputana Stainless Following Amicable Settlement
Mar 26, 2025
The Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) has dismissed a petition filed by KPI Green Energy Limited and Rajputana Stainless Limited after the petitioners and Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Limited (MGVCL) reached an amicable settlement.
Petition Details
The petition (No. 2205 of 2023) sought the implementation of GERC’s Order No. 3 of 2020 from the solar power project's commissioning date of June 1, 2021, instead of the effective date of September 1, 2022, considered by MGVCL.
Amicable Resolution
During the hearing on January 6, 2025, the petitioners’ legal representative, Ms. K. H. Bhaya, informed the Commission that both parties had resolved the issue. Consequently, the petitioners no longer wished to pursue the case. The respondent’s counsel confirmed that MGVCL had no objection to the petition’s withdrawal.
Commission's Decision
After reviewing the submissions, GERC approved the withdrawal request. The Commission formally dismissed the petition, marking the end of the proceedings.
This decision highlights the effectiveness of negotiated settlements in resolving regulatory disputes, ensuring cooperative solutions within the renewable energy sector.
