Essar Renewables Partners with Maharashtra Government for 2000 MW Renewable Energy Initiative

Essar Renewables Ltd (ERL) has signed an MoU with the Government of Maharashtra during the World Economic Forum in Davos to develop 2000 MW of renewable energy capacity. With an investment of approximately INR 8,000 crore, ERL aims to establish round-the-clock renewable energy projects supporting the EV truck charging ecosystem of Blue Energy Motors and Greenline. Slated to commence in FY 2026-27, the initiative is expected to create over 2,000 jobs and boost Maharashtra's green energy transition.

Essar executives emphasized the project’s potential to position India as a leader in the global green economy and contribute to sustainable energy development.
