Envision Energy and FERA Australia Partner to Launch 1 GW Hybrid Wind and Storage Projects
Jul 23, 2025
Envision Energy has signed a landmark agreement with FERA Australia to develop large-scale hybrid renewable energy projects across Australia's National Electricity Market (NEM), targeting up to 1 GW of wind capacity and 1.5 GWh of battery energy storage. The deal, formalized at the Australia Energy Wind Conference in Melbourne, represents the first of its kind in the country and leverages Envision’s cutting-edge technology suite.
The collaboration will begin with a pilot project in Victoria, showcasing Envision’s full converter wind turbines, grid-forming battery storage systems, and proprietary Hybrid Power Plant Controller (HPPC). This hybrid plant aims to set new standards for clean, flexible, and reliable energy delivery while enhancing grid resilience.
Kane Xu, SVP at Envision Energy, highlighted the strategic importance of combining wind and storage technologies to support Australia’s zero-carbon transition. Sebastiano Falesi, Head of FERA Australia, emphasized the partnership as a model for future renewable initiatives and praised Envision’s global technical capabilities.
This agreement underscores a growing industry shift toward hybrid solutions that integrate renewable generation with storage and grid management tools, marking a significant milestone in Australia’s clean energy evolution.
