Bajel Projects to Invest Rs1.7 Billion to Expand Galvanizing and Transmission Infrastructure Capacity

Jul 16, 2025

Mumbai-based Bajel Projects will invest Rs1.7 billion to more than double its galvanizing capacity at the Ranjangaon facility in Maharashtra, increasing output from 40,000 MTPA to over 100,000 MTPA by Q4 2027. The investment will also boost production of transmission towers, monopoles, lighting towers, and high masts, supporting growing demand in the power transmission sector.

Galvanized steel is essential for solar panel mounting and transmission infrastructure. The expansion, funded through internal accruals and debt, positions Bajel to tap into both domestic and global markets amid surging demand for reliable transmission infrastructure driven by renewable energy integration, urbanization, and rising power needs.

Bajel, active in power transmission and distribution, also offers international EPC services. It recently secured a Rs3–4 billion EPC contract for the TL04 package of the Siwani-Jind 400 kV double-circuit transmission line from Power Grid Corporation of India. This project is part of efforts to evacuate 12 GW of renewable energy from Rajasthan’s REZ Phase-IV.

The strategic expansion aligns with national and global trends focused on strengthening energy infrastructure to support cleaner, more resilient grids.
