Feb 09, 2025
Hyderabad-based Aurobindo Pharma Ltd has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Swarnaaskshu Solar Power to procure solar energy under a captive arrangement. As part of this agreement, Aurobindo Pharma will invest up to INR 10.40 crore to acquire a 26% stake in Swarnaaskshu Solar Power’s planned 30 MW AC (40 MW DC) solar plant in Telangana.
This move aligns with Aurobindo Pharma’s commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint by sourcing clean energy for its operations. The investment will help the company secure long-term access to renewable power, lower its dependence on fossil fuels, and achieve cost savings in electricity consumption.
Captive solar power projects have gained momentum among industries aiming to transition toward green energy while ensuring energy security. By partnering with Swarnaaskshu Solar Power, Aurobindo Pharma strengthens its position as an environmentally responsible corporation while contributing to Telangana’s renewable energy growth.
