Mar 27, 2025
Independent power producer AMPIN Energy Transition has secured a $50 Million (Rs 435 crore) investment from Siemens Financial Services, the financing arm of Siemens AG. The funding will enhance AMPIN’s position in India's renewable energy sector, supporting its expansion in commercial and industrial (C&I) and utility-scale renewable energy projects.
This marks AMPIN’s third major investment this financial year, bringing its total equity capital raised in FY 2024-25 to Rs2,312 crore. The company has raised nearly Rs5,995 crore in total equity funding, enabling a capital deployment of over Rs34,259 crore.
Earlier in 2024, AMPIN secured Rs299 crore from responsAbility, a private markets investor, as part of its Rs4,282 crore climate investment plan for Asia, which was responsAbility’s largest climate investment to date.
AMPIN received Rs2,474 crore in long-term financing from Oesterreichische Entwicklungsbank (Development Bank of Austria) to establish a 1 GW solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Odisha.
Additionally, AMPIN partnered with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) to develop 2 GW of renewable energy projects in India. CIP’s Growth Markets Fund II plans to build a Rs12,874 crore renewable energy asset base through this collaboration, with a joint Rs2.569 crore investment.
Currently, AMPIN operates a 5 GW renewable energy portfolio across 22 states, consisting of solar, wind, and energy storage projects catering to C&I and utility customers.
